- Description
- Recent discussions between the Federal government and China concerning the export of millions of dollars worth of donkey meat and edible skins from Queensland each year are reported in Queensland to become the ass end of Australia? The article claims that the trade would "see the joke of the animal kingdom exported for food and traditional medicine" (where donkey skin is used to boost female libido). This report highlights the fate of the descendants of the donkeys brought to Australia for transportation during European colonisation. Once invaluable to many early settlers in harsh and isolated regions because of their hardy qualities, they are now running wild and causing problems for pastoralists and allegedly destroying the fragile environment
